Dark and stormy smoothie

I'm a big fan of smoothie bowls for breakfast - partly because I feel like i'm eating ice cream in the morning (big kid over here) and secondly because it's a great way to load up on a lot of nutrients and vitamins to keep you energised until lunchtime.
Try to get some veggies in there somewhere and avoid going overboard on the fruits to as this will take a hit on your recommended daily sugar allowance. Choose dark berries, which are rich in antioxidants as well as containing less sugar.
I like to serve mine with crunchy nuts or seeds on top for a healthy dose of omega 3 and fat to feed the brain.

RECIPE
Ingredients:
For the smoothie ½ cup frozen mixed berries Handful of kale 1/3 courgette chopped ¼ cup almond milk 2 tsp maca 2 tsp Aduna cacao
Scoop soya yoghurt (for the swirl)
Toppings Dried mulberries Mixed seeds Cacao nibs Blackberries
METHOD:
In a high speed blender/ food processor, place the almond milk in first followed by the rest of the smoothie ingredients (except the yoghurt) and pulse until smooth, thick and creamy.
Pour the mixture into a bowl and swirl the yoghurt in spirals with a spoon.
Top with dried mulberries, mixed seeds, crunchy cacao nibs and blackberries.
